Drug Rehab in Scottsdale for Men

A Men's Treatment Program That Unites Men Choosing Recovery

Guiding Road Recovery Center’s Scottsdale residential location is where men in the program can live while they attend treatment. It’s part of a small program run by a team that includes people who understand recovery personally.

The Scottsdale House

Comfortable Spaces for Treatment, Rest, and Time Together

Guiding Road’s founder, Mark North, brings personal recovery experience and more than two decades in hospitality to the program. That background helps shape the setting. The Scottsdale house is a well-kept, thoughtfully furnished home with shared spaces for meals and conversation and quieter places to rest.

That’s what luxury means here, and the photos show the house as it is. The bedrooms you see are shared rooms, and admissions can go through room arrangements with you before he arrives. Comfort is part of the experience. It isn’t the treatment.

What We Treat

Addiction and Co-Occurring Mental Health Care for Men

Guiding Road treats drug and alcohol use in men, along with any mental health conditions that occur alongside it. An assessment comes first. It shapes his treatment plan, and the aim is a plan built around him, including what’s going on beyond the substance he’s been using.

You’ll know who’s behind that plan. Clinical care is led by Karen Williams, LPC, Chief Clinical Officer, with Paul Flatley, DO, as Medical Director and Laura Masters, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, handling medication management. Guiding Road is accredited by The Joint Commission for behavioral health care.

Testimonials

What Men Say About Guiding Road

Recovery is hard work, and the men who do it here are the best ones to tell you what it’s like. These are their words.

My family had given up on me. I'd given up on me. The team here didn't. They held me to a standard I couldn't hold myself to, and they did it with respect. I'm two years out and still sober. This place works.

Guiding Road is the first place that treated me like a man, not a patient. The clinical work was real. The community was real. I learned how to be honest, probably for the first time in my life. That's what saved me.

I came in not sure I'd make it through 30 days. The staff met me where I was — no judgment, no fluff. By the time I left, I had tools I actually use, brothers I still talk to, and a way of living I didn't think was possible for me.

For Families

Guiding Road Is

You don’t need to know which program he needs before you call. Tell admissions what’s been happening, and they can explain what Scottsdale offers and what the next steps look like. A conversation doesn’t commit him to anything.

Family involvement at Guiding Road follows his consent, his clinical team’s recommendations and his privacy. Here’s what’s worth asking admissions about, including how the family program works for a man at Scottsdale:

Family work doesn’t have to stop when he finishes the program. Some families keep meeting with their loved one’s therapist after discharge.

Admissions can review the plan’s benefits for this level of care and explain any potential out-of-pocket costs as part of the next steps. For a broader look at cost, our guide to what rehab costs is a good place to start.

FAQs

Start With Your Questions

A few things worth knowing before he starts. Admissions can answer anything else.

Does Guiding Road provide medical detox on site?

No. When detox is needed, Guiding Road coordinates medically supervised detox with outside medical providers before admission. Admissions can explain how that works and when he may be ready to start at Scottsdale.

It depends. His clinical needs and the program schedule both matter, so raise it with admissions before he starts. They can explain the schedule and any device limits, so you know what’s realistic.

There’s no fixed number of days. The length and sequence of his care are set by assessment and by how he progresses, and admissions can tell you what continued support might look like after IOP.

Guiding Road integrates 12-step work into treatment. Step work is required. The spiritual side is invitational: morning prayer and meditation, an optional Christian track and weekly off-site church are there for men who want them. If you’re unsure how that fits his beliefs, admissions can talk it through.
