LEVELS OF CARE
Cigna plans may include benefits for more than one level of addiction treatment. Whether a plan applies to a given level of care depends on the plan itself, a clinical review of what he needs, and any authorization the plan asks for. Detox is not part of the program on site: when he needs it, Guiding Road coordinates it with medical partners before admission.
The most structured level of care at Guiding Road, and for men only. Men live together at the Phoenix location, eat together and spend weekdays in groups, individual therapy and recovery meetings. The full residential week is set out further down this page.
Partial hospitalization is structured day treatment and a step down from residential care. It suits a man who still needs a full day of treatment but no longer needs to live in a residential program. A Cigna plan may treat PHP as its own level of care with its own clinical review, so it is worth asking about even when residential is the first step. Intensive outpatient treatment is an outpatient level of care and one of the next steps a man can take after residential treatment.
