The Road to Recovery: Understanding the Process

We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible. Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive — what to bring, what to pack, and what to leave at home.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Driver's license or photo ID

A valid, government-issued form of identification.

Insurance ID card

Bring the card itself, or a copy of the front and back.

PACKING FOR YOUR STAY

What to Pack

The high Sonoran Desert climate brings cool mornings, hot days, and cool evenings. We recommend casual, comfortable clothing that’s fairly conservative in style think safety and function over fashion.

Laundry

You are welcome to do your laundry during your leisure hours. Guiding Road provides all necessary laundry supplies, including irons, so you can conveniently care for your clothing on campus. Fresh bed linens and towels are also provided, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Toiletries

All personal toiletries must be in their original containers. Non-alcoholic mouthwash is allowed. Emery boards are preferred, though nail files or small clippers are permitted. Electric/battery-operated razors are welcome, and staff can transport you to purchase additional approved items.

Miscellaneous

Bring personal stationery, an address book, stamps, pens, and notebooks. A credit/debit card and a small amount of cash ($200 or less) is recommended. Sugarless gum is allowed, and you may bring your own pillow. A variety of food choices accommodate dietary needs, including vegetarian.

Medications

Bringing Medications With You
Any medications must be prescribed by your doctor and in their original containers with prescription labels attached. Unlabeled medications or those with potential for abuse will be destroyed upon arrival, and a Guiding Road physician evaluates everything brought in. We recommend bringing only a 72-hour supply we’ll refill prescriptions as needed.
You may bring a full supply of vitamins or over-the-counter medications in original, sealed containers, subject to medical-staff approval. Guiding Road supplies and replenishes approved vitamins and supplements at no additional charge.
